Field Notes
I got a new Field Notes Notebook to put stuff in. These aren't always drawings. I keep this notebook in my pocket so I can add to it when things come to me, especially ideas.
You can see more of these on my flickr.

There Is A Light...
I live in Anderson Indiana and go to school at Ball State University, which is about twenty miles away, where I study video production and film. During the past four years I have spent up to five hours a week driving to and from school or work. This provides me with plenty of time to listen podcasts, including The Vinyl Café with Stuart McLean. Yesterday I was listening to, and quite enjoying, The Vinyl Café from October 31, 2009. It featured the music of Great Lake Swimmers. During the song There Is A Light there is a magnificent musical build accompanied by the subtle sound of a xylophone or some type of bell. At this exact moment I drove under a flock of birds escaping the inclement central Indiana weather. The image of the birds against the bleak sky combined with the music was enough to give me an overwhelming warm sensation.
The image moved me to turn around my car, and record the birds on my point and shoot digital camera that records scratchy digital video. Knowing that the rest of my drive to work was pretty scenic I decided to use the spare time to record a music video for the song. Coincidently I ended up late to work where I finished the bulk of the editing.
Often when I listen to The Vinyl Café I’m inspired by the music and stories. As an inspiring filmmaker/writer I always look to Stuart’s stories for a little education on story telling and character development. The Story Exchange, a segment from the show featuring stories from listeners, leaves me wanting to adapt the tales into short film screenplays.

Moleskine
I got a moleskine. The idea is that I'll love and cherish my drawings more if they are in a leather binding, rather than on the back of old sales reports from work. I have to admit that I like it so far. It was so expensive that it motivates me to draw in it.
This is practice for one of the characters in Preston's comic.
You can see what I draw in the moleskine as I up load them weekly to my flickr.

A New Project
After spending what seem like more than just the entire summer working on a film for school as the Art Director I have developed an idea for a new film. I've started writing the script and I plan to pour a lot of time and hard work into the film. I want to leave college with a festival worthy film and I'm starting on it now.

Now Showing.. Now Showing
For a long time now I've wanted to do some type of story telling with the things that happen at the theater where I work. Well the time is now. I've created what I'm calling an Illustrated blog about just that, working at the theater. You should check it out.

The Vegan Evolves.
I've started painting blank skateboard decks for a friend. I've been wanting to paint for along time and now, finally, I've started. This is based on a drawing I did on the back of an envelope a few years ago.
